'Hot Felon' Jeremy Meeks, Known For Mugshot Meme, Sentenced To Two Years In Federal Prison

On Feb. 5, the man who became known across the Internet as the “hot felon” was sentenced to two years in federal prison on gun charges.

Jeremy Meeks, 30, of Stockon, California, became an Internet sensation when his mugshot, originally posted on the Sacramento Police Department Facebook page, went viral. With Meeks’ chiseled jawline and blue eyes on display, the mugshot quickly turned into a hugely popular meme throughout Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, and landed the man the nicknames “hot felon” and “Mugshot McDreamy.”

In June, Meeks was arrested on felony weapons charges. The recent conviction and sentencing were for one felony count of possession of a firearm.

Meeks was sentenced to 27 months in prison and 500 hours in a substance abuse treatment program. He was also ordered to pay a $100, but was “found to not have the ability to do so,” according to CBS News.
