A woman and her husband were caught having sex in her hospital room while waiting to have their baby's birth induced, but reports say the hospital’s procedure actually allows that sort of thing to happen.
According to reports, a cleaner overheard moaning coming from a private room in the maternity ward and informed her bosses of the situation. She was shocked, however, when her bosses said that sex is allowed in hospital rooms so long as the couple put a sign on the door letting people know not to disturb them.
Other people at St. Michael’s Hospital in Bristol overheard the activities and were reportedly not happy, but hospital officials maintained that the couple wasn’t breaking any rules.
“Other patients on the unit heard the commotion and were upset,” a hospital source disclosed, according to The Daily Mirror. “The cleaner was utterly shocked. She was amazed to be told it was OK. The hospital's advice appears to be just to put a sign up — amazing.”
The hospital has released a statement following the incident claiming that they have not received any complaints in regards to what happened in the maternity ward.
“Staff work hard to ensure privacy and dignity is maintained for all patients,” said a hospital spokeswoman. “Thankfully, we have not received any complaints or concerns in regard to this matter.”
