High School Teacher Put On Leave After Allegedly Recording Video Up Student's Dress

A Washington high school teacher has been put on paid leave while police investigate allegations that he recorded video up a female student’s skirt. This practice is often called "upskirting."

The Evergreen High School teacher in question has not been identified at this time because he has not yet been charged or arrested. Vancouver police are working with a school resource officer to investigate the matter, Fox 12 reported.

Students noticed something strange in class Monday when their teacher sat down with two female students and one male student.

The teacher appeared to be holding his cellphone under the table and the phone was on. One of the female students who was at the table told KPTV that she believes the teacher may have been recording video up her dress while he spoke to her about an assignment.

“I felt disgusted and grossed out,” the student said. “And he was leaning awkwardly, like sitting weird, and he kept clearing his throat and grunting while he was looking down.”

Classmates approached the student with pictures of the teacher holding his cellphone underneath the table. They immediately alerted school officials.

The student, who wasn’t identified because she is a minor, said she wasn’t expecting something like this to happen.

Evergreen High School sent a letter home to parents and referred to the incident as “potentially inappropriate behavior by a teacher in a classroom”

“Vancouver Police were immediately called in to begin an investigation” the letter continued. “Evergreen High School is cooperating fully with the investigation and will take any necessary action based on the findings of the investigation.”

The mother of the 14-year-old student has since pulled her daughter from the school.

“I think they're taking it a little more seriously but I hope they just don't try to ignore it,” she said. “That's something a pedophile does. It's not normal.”
