High School Student Traveshia Blanks Charged With Assault After Attacking Two Elderly People in 'Knockout Game' (Video)

A teen in Florida is in trouble after taking part in the “knockout game” and assaulting two elderly people.

Traveshia Blanks, 15, faces two charges of felony battery on a person 65 or older after kicking a 72-year-old man and slapping another 89-year-old man.

“I didn’t hear anything,” said the 72-year-old victim, who was weeding his garden when the attack happened. “There was nobody in the area at all. It was very quiet [when] all of a sudden I felt a blow to my hip and I was on the ground. I turned around to see what happened and there was a girl standing there laughing. I was in shock. Who would expect anything from out of the blue to happen like that. There's no reason had I done something or said something.”

Blanks was with her friends when the attack happened, and one of the friends actually caught the incident on camera.

The other incident was reported by 89-year-old Harry Hurvitz after he says the group of teens rang his doorbell, one of them slapped him in the face, and ran away laughing.

“There are lots of old ladies here who have guns and revolvers in their possesion and will not open the door unless they are fully armed,” said Hurvitz. “And they will just let loose.”

A judge has ordered Blanks to spend 21 days in secure detention following the incidents. She will appear in court again next month.

Police have released the cell phone video of Blanks’ attack on the 72-year-old man. Watch the shocking attack below.
