Here's What'll Happen To The Del Taco Employee Who Mocked This Man In Front Of His Daughter (Photo)

An employee at a Del Taco restaurant in Escondido, California, was fired after reportedly ridiculing a man who survived third- and fourth-degree burns in a work accident 20 years ago (video below).

Antonio Dobbins, 50, was at a local Del Taco when one of the servers approached him, reports ABC 10 News.

“Typically girls don’t go out with a guy that looks like you,” the employee reportedly said to Dobbins. He allegedly requested a picture of Dobbins to show his friends.

“I don't cry a lot because I've gotten hardened through this over the years, but it actually made me cry, that people out here think like that,” Dobbins told ABC 10 News. “He was more worried about what he wanted with his social media and his buddies and didn't think anything of my feelings.”

After Dobbins spoke out about the incident, the employee was terminated. Del Taco subsequently released a statement acknowledging the controversy.

“Del Taco does not tolerate this type of behavior from our staff and after conducting an internal investigation, the employee has been terminated,” the statement read. “This unfortunate incident does not reflect the values of the brand.  We have reached out to Antonio directly to apologize to him and his family although we have not been able to connect as of yet.”
