Half-Headed Man Charged With Attempted Murder

A man previously made famous because he only has half a head was arrested on two counts of attempted murder in Miami-Dade County, Florida.

Carlos Rodriguez is accused of intentionally setting fire to his mattress in his apartment in Miami, WTVJ reported.

Two other people lived in a duplex next door to Rodriguez’s rooms. It remains unclear why Rodriguez set the mattress alight.

Court documents said the 31-year-old deliberately set fire to the mattress, “posing an immediate threat to the lives and safety of the occupants,” according to WTVJ.

When police officers arrived at the scene, they found Rodriguez in the yard.

During Rodriguez’s appearance in court Oct. 18, his public defender suggested Rodriguez may have mental health problems.

He has also been charged with first degree arson.

Rodriguez first came to prominence in 2010, when police arrested him after he tried to solicit a prostitute. His mugshot was widely shared on social media.

Two years later, he appeared in a YouTube video explaining how he got the injury, which he reportedly suffered at the age of 14 in a car crash.

“I was barred out on drugs,” Rodriguez said in the video, “and I was driving and I hit a pole and flew out the front window and landed on my head.”

He has since been known as “halfie” to his friends.

“And this is how the old boy has come out. That is why it's no good drinking and driving or [taking drugs] and driving. No good, kids.” Rodriguez added, according to the Daily Mail.

Rodriguez is currently being held on $20,000 bond.
