Woman Who Banned All Muslims From Her Business Gets Award

Jan Morgan, owner of the Gun Cave Indoor Shooting Range in Hot Springs, Ark., announced in September that she was banning Muslims from her business.

Morgan stated on her website that the Quran commanded Muslims to "hate, murder and terror against all human beings who refuse to submit or convert to Islam." Morgan also claimed that Muslims had threatened her life for mentioning the Quran and she listed Islamic terrorist groups in the Middle East.

Morgan added, "I view Islam as a theocracy, not a religion... The U.S. Constitution does not protect a theocracy. The 1st Amendment is very specific about protecting the rights of individuals from the government, as it concerns the practice of religions, not theocracies."

Gun Owners of America director Larry Pratt recently praised Morgan and declared her to be “on very sound ground” with her anti-Muslim position and said he wanted to give her an award (audio below).

According to RightWingWatch.org, during a radio interview on The Josh Bernstein Show this week, Pratt said, “I know there will be a lot of people that will be outraged at that, but we don’t facilitate murderers and if you read the Quran, it’s an instruction to go kill people, lots of them. And there are Muslims that don’t buy into that, well, how do I know which one you are?”

"It's her establishment," added Bernstein. "It's not the government's establishment. It's Jan Morgan's establishment. She can do what she wants in her own business."

That legal point has been debated over the past few weeks. After all, the Civil Rights Act of 1964 requires businesses to allow "full and equal enjoyment of the goods, services, facilities, privileges, advantages, and accommodations of any place of public accommodation, without discrimination or segregation on the ground of race, color, religion, or national origin."

Pratt added during the same interview, "This discussion has just put in my mind that Gun Owners of America ought to have some kind of an award that we give out and she ought to get it."
