Woman Receives 86th Great-Grandchild On 86th Birthday

An 86-year-old woman reportedly just received a special birthday present: Her 86th great-grandchild.

Marie Frey, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, received her 86th great-grandchild - Blakely Grace Frey - just days before her 86th birthday, according to ABC news.

"It's pretty good that she got to see her," Frey's grandson, Kenny Frey of Forest, Ohio, told the news station. "Family and faith are her two biggest favorites. She's a very strong woman."

Marie and her late husband Gerald, who died in 2009, reportedly had 15 children together, the oldest of whom is now 66 years old.

Marie also has 68 grandchildren and six step-grandchildren. In addition to 86 biological great-grandchildren, she also has nine step-great-grandchildren.

Blakely is Kenny's fifth daughter. She was born at 7 pounds, 5 ounces, three days prior to Marie's 86th birthday, and her mother Holly's 32nd birthday, on June 26.

Although they have quite the crowd to keep up with, Kenny said he and his grandmother enjoy being part of such a large clan.

"She came from large family and Grandpa did too," he said. "My wife and I also wanted a big family."

If the Freys want to make it into the Guinness Book of World Records, they've got some catching up to do. According to Guinness World Records' website, the record for most generations alive in a single family has been seven. The youngest great-great-great-great-grandparent is Augusta Bunge (USA) aged 109 years 97 days. Bunge's daughter is 89, her granddaughter is 70, her great-granddaughter is 52, her great-great-granddaughter is 33, and her great-great-great-granddaughter turned 15 on the day her great-great-great-great-grandson was born on January 21, 1989.

According to ABC News, this year Marie is expecting two more great-grandchildren, from Kenny's sister and cousin, so there's still a chance that the Freys might catch up with the Bunges. We'll just have to wait and see.
