A golf course worker should be awarded Good Samaritan of the Year after returning a bag full of $36,000 in cash to its rightful owner.
Rachel Castillo, who works at Miami Beach Golf Course, found the bag in January. Instead of keeping it, she decided to turn in the loot to authorities. The authorities, in turn, were then able to find a name and address in the bag.
After finding out the owner no longer lived at the address found in the bag, police had to dig a little deeper and eventually found out the bag belonged to a 76-year-old man who had moved to an assisted living facility.
Police were able to verify that the money belonged the man, and he has now gotten back all of his $36,000.
