A Goldman Sachs executive was arrested and charged with raping a 20-year-old woman at his Hamptons vacation home.
The Goldman Sachs managing director of equity capital markets group, 37-year-old Jason Lee, was arrested by East Hampton Town Police after they responded to a disturbance at the multi-million dollar home he was renting with his wife, according to the New York Post.
A police statement said only that “a 20-year-old woman had been sexually assaulted inside the residence where several people had gathered.”
Lee’s lawyer Edwards Burke Jr. said his client "adamantly denies the allegations."
Lee posted $20,000 bail, which was delivered in cash to court clerks while Lee waiting in a holding cell, the New York Post reported.
On leave since his arrest, Lee has worked for Goldman since 1998.
“He is very accomplished and he’s never been in trouble with the law,” Burke said. "His wife and family fully support him. He denies the allegation against him completely and looks forward to defending himself in court.”
Lee is due back in court on Sept. 19.
