A Georgia mother was arrested after her four-month-old baby was found dead with methamphetamine in her system.
According to Coweta County Sheriff Mike Yeager, all three of Jazmen Hazelrigs' children tested positive for methamphetamine.
The 22-year-old mother has been charged with three counts of Felony Child Cruelty and Possession of Methamphetamine. If investigators determine that the drug caused her four-month-old baby's death, she could face more serious charges.
Yeager said that toxicology reports were done on Hazelrigs, her deceased four-month old daughter, her two-year-old daughter, and her four-year-old son. All four of them tested positive for the drug.
According to Yeager, investigators found meth residue inside the home, including in the bed where Hazelrigs' daughter was found unresponsive next to her mother.
"She didn't remember putting the child in the bed with her," said Yeager. "She remembered the child was in a basinet beside the bed, but then the child was found lying next to her on some pillows."
Sheriff Deputies were called to Hazelrigs' home on September 7 when the four-month-old was found dead. Hazelrigs' was arrested September 25, when the toxicology reports came back positive for methamphetamine.
Hazelrigs is currently being held in the Coweta County Jail on $38,850 bond.
