Georgia Man Named A Murder Suspect After Five People Are Found Dead

Update: He has been arrested.

Thomas Jesse Lee, 26, is now a murder suspect after his wife, step-daughter and three others were found dead in LaGrange, Georgia.

Thomas’s wife, Christie Lee, 33, her daughter, Bailey Burtron, 16, her parents, William Burtron, 69, and Sheila Burtron, 68, and family friend Iiaonna Green, 18, were all found dead Saturday night.

Troup County Sheriff Sgt. Stewart Smith said the bodies were discovered after someone noticed one of the victims hadn’t shown up for work in a few days and called police, the Daily Mail reported.

Neighbor Jeff Delaney told WSBTV he hadn’t seen any activity in the house recently. “I'd say beginning of the week, maybe end of last week,” he said. "Nothing noticeable. Let's put it that way."

WSBTV reported four of the five victims were shot to death and that the bodies were found in different rooms of the home. The medical examiner will conduct the autopsies on Feb. 2.

Investigators believe that the murders happened last week and Thomas is on the run. “We’re doing any tracks we can on the cellphone, any Internet searches, social media searches for him and kind of coming up with a dead end right now," Smith said. "Definitely if anyone knows anything about him, please call the sheriff’s office or our crimestopper’s number."

Thomas does not have a record of domestic disputes. “Really no past history of calls to the house, and we really don't know what led up to this,” Smith said.

Thomas is believed to be driving an olive-green Mazda Tribute with Georgia tag BRN0785.
