Oscar De Las Salas and Gary Jackson were married at the famous Centennial Park in Coronado, Calif., on Aug. 17, but their special day was ruined by an unseen heckler.
Over 30 people flew in for the gay couple's wedding, but the ceremony was interrupted by a mysterious voice yelling "homos" and "go home homos."
The homophobic insults reportedly came from the balcony of a nearby condominium complex.
"He really wanted to humiliate the people there. He said, 'Go home f----,'" wedding musician David De Alva told 10 News (video below).
"During the wedding vows, everyone stopped and turned," recalled De Las Salas. "It was a moment of fear. I'm thinking, 'God forbid this person has a gun and decides to open fire.'"
"He took from me, my husband, and my guests a moment of joy, a simple moment of joy," added De Las Salas.
Jackson stated, "It's just sad that that is now ingrained for the rest of our lives in our wedding day. That person took a chunk of what should have been a beautiful day and turned it into something nasty and full of hate."
De Las Salas and Jackson wrote letters to the city of Coronado and the condo's homeowners association, which responded with apologies, reports Towleroad.com.
