French Girl, 12, Writes $3,440 In Bad Checks For Candy And Pastries

A young French girl’s sweet tooth has left a sour taste in the mouth of local authorities.

The girl, 12, was detained by police for writing $3,440 in bad checks to local candy stores and baked goods retailers. In total, she wrote 23 checks to sweet shops in the French city of Bordeaux.

She purchased the candy over a period of several months after swiping her neighbor’s checkbook back in March. The checks were mostly used to buy candies and pastries from local candy stores and bakeries.

The girl was released after her parents agreed to repay all of the money, The Inquisitr reported.

Her crime was only discovered after one of the bakeries tried to deposit one of her checks and it bounced. Had that not happened, she would've gone on living her life of crime. It is not as if there was any other evidence — she ate it all.
