Freddy The Great Dane Is 7 Feet 4 Inches, 156 Pounds, And Growing

If you think your dog stands tall on his hind legs, think again.

Freddy the Great Dane stands 7ft 4in on his hind legs, and is being touted as Britain's tallest dog, reports The Daily Mail.

At only 18 months old, Freddy is still growing and only inches away from becoming the world's tallest dog. His measurements are currently 41 inches from his paws to his withers (the rise between shoulder blades), and he weighs 156 pounds.

Freddy's owner, Claire Stoneman, 38 and 5ft 4in tall, only walks Freddy in the early morning hours so he will not intimidate other dogs because of his size.

"If he wants to run after a dog I wouldn’t be able to stop him," said Stoneman.

Freddy has been quite a handful since birth.

He ate his way through 14 sofas before realizing they were better to sit on then eat.

"I’d come home and find a sea of foam across the floor. But he’s my baby and I can’t imagine life without him," said Stoneman.

He now prefers a whole roast chicken or peanut butter on toast as a treat, in addition to his $102 weekly supply of standard dog food.

The Guinness World Record for world's tallest dog is currently held by Zeus, a four-year-old Great Dane from Michigan who is 44 inches tall.
