Fox News Host Tells Supermodel Chrissy Teigen Not to Talk About Gun Violence (Video)

After the shooting in Ottawa, Canada, yesterday, supermodel Chrissy Teigen tweeted about the high level of gun violence in the U.S.

“Active shooting in Canada, or as we call it in america, wednesday,” tweeted Teigen.

“That’s not a joke. It is a fact,” she followed.

After being accused of joking about the shooting on Twitter, Teigen responded, "Sorry you don't understand that is a knock at america and our issues with gun control. No one is minimizing the Ottawa shooting."

The supermodel then stood her ground, "I'm not apologizing. If you take it wrong, that is your fault."

The Washington Post reported in 2012, "The United States has the highest gun ownership rate in the world and the highest per capita rate of firearm-related murders of all developed countries."

In 2013, NPR noted, "The countries with more civilian guns also had the highest rates of firearms deaths, with the United States leading the list at 10 deaths per 100,000, based on an international mortality database."

Even though the facts overwhelmingly back up Teigen, she was attacked today by Fox News host Andrea Tantaros on "OutNumbered" (video below), according to

“She should stay on Instagram,” stated Tantaros. “Chrissy Teigen is known for, obviously, her lovely bottom, and her food Instagram pictures. She should stick to that.”

“This is the problem when models start to talk,” said Tantaros. “They play into that dumb model stereotype. Because it’s too soon for her to weigh in. And also, conflate gun control, and crime in America with a global war against radical Islamic jihadism.”

While the shooter reportedly converted to Islam, there is no evidence yet that he was part of a "radical Islamic threat" or a "global war" against America.

“She clearly doesn’t know about the radical Islamic threat to the nation, she hasn’t educated herself. When she does stuff like this, you’ve just got to shake your head,” added Tantaros.

Co-Host Kirsten Powers reminded Tantaros that Teigen actually does have a right to speak out, to which Tantaros fired back, "If she wants to weigh in on gun control and crime then let’s have a debate about the root of crime in America."
