Brianne Altice, 35, a former high school teacher from South Weber, Utah, is awaiting trial for allegedly sexually assaulting three of her students. However, she was arrested again while out on bail for continuing her relationship with one of the victims.
Judge John Morris said at a pre-trial hearing on Thursday that Altice would face charges of rape, unlawful sexual activity and dealing harmful material to a minor — in addition to several other felonies she already faced.
Salt Lake Tribune reported one of Altice’s victims, now 18, testified on her behalf in court. "It's ridiculous," he said. “She doesn't deserve to be here.”
Morris ordered Altice back to jail, without the possibility of bail, while she awaits her trial. According to the Daily Mail, the prosecution argued Altice’s “willingness to continue to commit felony sexual offenses while on bail causes great concern that this defendant will continue and be a danger to the community.”
Altice taught English at Davis High School before she was fired last February. In October of 2013, Altice was arrested for having sex with one of her students, and another student came forward in August of 2014.
Altice’s marriage has since fallen apart, but she has denied all charges.
