Food Truck Explodes in Philadelphia, Injures 13 People (Video)

A food truck exploded in a Philadelphia neighborhood yesterday and injured 13 people.

The fiery explosion happened at about 5:30 p.m and was caught on video (below).

Olga Galdamez, 42, and her daughter, Jaylin Landaverry, 17, were inside the food truck when it blew up. They are in critical condition at a local hospital, notes NBC Philadelphia.

“I heard the boom first, and then the fire just came out of nowhere,” witness Latoya Page told CBS Philadelphia. “I have first-degree burns on my whole left side."

“It appears, preliminarily, that the cause of this explosion was a propane tank,” said Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small. “This lunch truck actually has two similar propane tanks in the rear of the truck. One of them is still intact. The other one exploded.”

According to Philly.com, early police-radio reports said there were no available ambulances for the blast scene, but an unidentified fire department source said the lack of ambulances only caused delays for less seriously injured people.
