A woman named Crystal Metheney was arrested in Florida last month for allegedly firing a “missile” at a car, and yes, that is her real name.
Polk County Sheriff’s Office arrested 37-year-old Crystal Metheney on Cinco de Mayo and charged her with shooting a “missile” into “an occupied vehicle,” Raw Story reports.
It is unclear if Metheney had launched a bottle rocket firework or some sort of larger, more dangerous “missile.”
But she did violate Florida statute 790.19, which bans: ”Shooting into or throwing deadly missiles into dwellings, public or private buildings, occupied or not occupied; vessels, aircraft, buses, railroad cars, streetcars, or other vehicles."
Metheney was released the following day after posting a $5,000 bond.
This is not Metheney’s first brush with the law. She was previously arrested in 2012 for marijuana possession, but no crystal meth-related charges.
Metheney joins the ranks of other Florida residents whose names are just as unfortunate. The Broward-Palm Beach New Times reports that Edward Cocaine was arrested in April for the possession of Xanax pills, but charges against him were later dropped. Also, a woman named Brittany Boozel has had run-ins with the law at least six times.
