Florida State University freshman quarterback De'Andre Johnson is accused of punching a woman at a bar on June 24. Now, a video (below) of the incident has been released.
Johnson, 19, has been charged with misdemeanor battery, Tallahassee Democrat reported. The woman was waiting in line for a drink at a bar called Yianni’s when she allegedly felt Johnson push pass her aggressively.
According to court records, she addressed him at the bar and she raised her arm to defend herself. Johnson then began punching her. The victim tried to push him away, but he responded by punching her on the other side of the face.
The woman reportedly had bruising near her left eye, swelling of the left cheek and upper lip, and a small cut near the bridge of her nose. "She's a good witness and she wants to testify," said State Attorney Willie Meggs, who will prosecute the case. "She's a little nervous about it.”
It’s unclear what type of disciplinary action, if any, would be taken by FSU against Johnson as the case proceeds, but he is currently on indefinite suspension, Deadspin reported.
