A Florida woman is recovering from life-saving surgery after her 13-year-old daughter’s boyfriend slit her throat on Sunday, according to police.
The woman -- who was not identified -- was lured into her garage by her daughter around 5 a.m. on Sunday. Lying in wait was the girl’s 15-year-old boyfriend, who attacked her with a knife.
He allegedly told the woman that he wanted to be with her daughter and that she shouldn’t have hit him with a stick way back when, according to the Ocala StarBanner.
After allegedly slitting her throat, the 15-year-old went into the house and held the knife to the girl’s father’s throat. He was eventually persuaded to bring the bleeding woman to the hospital.
The father was unharmed, according to Marion sheriff's spokesman Judge Cochran.
The teens then drove her to the hospital, making her promise along the way that she wouldn’t sue the boyfriend for hurting her.
They dropped off the woman at the emergency room, according to the arrest affidavit. Hospital officials then called the sheriff’s office.
Both teens were arrested hours later. The boy told police they planned the “ambush” in order to be together.
They face two counts each of conspiracy to commit murder and one count each of attempted murder in the second degree.
They are being held without bond at the Marion County Juvenile Detention Center.
