Police: Florida Mother Killed Her Toddler And Put Him In A Suitcase In What May Have Been 'Ritualistic In Nature'

A woman in Florida was arrested after telling authorities she killed her son and stuffed his corpse in a suitcase to “save” him from a biblical flood.

Bay County Sheriff’s spokeswoman Ruth Corley said the woman’s boyfriend went to the fire department on Dec. 29 to report that Egypt Moneeck Robinson, 27, of Callaway, Florida, had killed her son. Fire officials then called police.

As officers arrived at the couple's home, Robinson seemed “distraught,” according to the sheriff's department.

Robinson then confessed to killing her child, reported WJHG.

She was taken into custody and treated for a self-inflicted wound at the hospital, reports Daily Mail. Corley said Robinson was likely to be charged with one count of open murder on Dec. 30.

The deputies found the black suitcase drifting in a pond behind Robinson's home at around 4 p.m. Inside the suitcase, they discovered the body of Aries Juan Acevedo, Robinson's son.

Corley said the child is thought to be around 3 years old and was likely dead for around 24 hours. A postmortem examination concluded the boy had died from a stab wound.

Detectives were looking into the possibility the child’s murder may have been “ritualistic in nature.”

According to an incident report, Robinson told an officer arriving at her house, “Just put me into handcuffs. I did it. I killed my baby and put him inside of the suitcase.”

The police report notes Robinson made several spontaneous statements about the imminent end of the world, and how she was trying to save her child from a biblical flood.

“The world is going to flood and everyone was going to be drowned and I can't be drowned, therefore, I have to be shot in the head,” Robinson was quoted as telling the deputy before saying, “I was just trying to save my baby!”

Robinson later said, “Everyone on Noah's Ark relieved and my baby will relive again!”
