Yoga Studio Owner Reportedly Murders Twin Sister

Police charged a yoga studio owner with intentionally murdering her twin sister and business partner in Hawaii on May 29.

Alexandria Duval, 37, reportedly killed her twin sister and co-owner of the studio, Anastasia Duval, by driving her car off a cliff, the Daily Mail reports. Anastasia was in the passenger seat.

Witnesses say Alexandria, who is also known as Alison Dadow, looked angry, and one witness stated they saw her pull her sister’s hair during a fight.

“I saw a pair of hands jerking the head, pulling the hair,” witness Lawrence Lau said. “There were hands pulling her head down like this, and her head was jerking.”

An investigation later revealed that instead of attempting to slow the vehicle, Alexandria pushed down on the Ford Explorer's accelerator before crashing into a wall and careening off the road, landing on a rock-covered shoreline.

Anastasia, who also goes by the name Ann Dadow, was killed immediately. Helicopters retrieved her body.

Her sister Alexandria was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Defense attorneys argue Anastasia had no intention to actually kill her sister.

“[Anastasia] did not try to harm herself or the person she most loved and was closest to in the world,”  her defense attorney, Todd Eddins, said. He added that this was a “heart-shattering” tragedy for the family.

“They were in the process of building a business plan and were aspiring to open up studios here,” he said. “They had an extremely close bond.”

The duo owned a yoga studio called Twin Power Yoga, a business that had faced financial difficulties. Both also had criminal backgrounds, having been arrested multiple times on alcohol-related charges.

Despite difficulties with the studio, both it and the twins received positive reviews from internet users.

“I love the little tid bits of wisdom [the staff] share during the class, I find their words replaying in my mind when I need them the most. The inspiring stories at the end of the session, the lavender on your wrist, just their calm voice and sincere heart to want to help you become all that you can be!,” one Google user wrote.

“The twins are very special and unique, just like the studio they have created!” the customer added.
