Chevrolet on Thursday released its first photo of the next-generation Malibu sedan -- its first major redesign since the Malibu nameplate was re-launched in 2008, earning a Motor Trend Car of the Year nomination.
Automotive News writes of the new design:
The front-end shot shows a more sculpted front fascia and hood. A tall grille, split by a wide bar, is carried over from the current version.
An earlier teaser video showed that the Malibu has two rectangular taillights on each side of the vehicle.
The car will be unveiled next week at the Shanghai auto show. It will get its U.S. debut at the New York auto show later in the week.
Sales in the U.S. begin next year. The Malibu will be labeled a 2013 model.
