Female Ukrainian ‘Separatist’ Allegedly Stole Makeup From MH17 Crash Site, Sparks Online Outrage (Photos)

A Ukrainian woman is in hot water after allegedly wearing stolen makeup from the crash site of the downed Malaysia Airlines flight MH17, and then showing it off on social media.

According to the Daily Mail, Ekaterina Parkhomenko, who describes herself as a separatist from Torez, posted a picture on Instagram of a blue mascara bottle that she claims was looted from the site where the Boeing 777 crashed after being shot down over eastern Ukraine on July 17.

“Mascara from Amsterdam, or if to be precise from the field. Well, you understand,” the caption read.

The woman, whose age is unknown, also used her iPhone to take two selfies showing her wearing the Catrice mascara. Followers asked Parkhomenko if she was joking and how she ended up with the mascara.

“An acquaintance of mine, a looter, gave it to me,” she replied.

But before Parkhomenko could delete her Instagram and her other social media accounts, she sparked a deluge of hateful comments from both Ukrainians and Russians.

“Are you normal there?” another user asked Parkhomenko.

“No,” she replied.

“It is lower than low to pick up mascara from the deceased,” Russian blogger Bozhena Rysnka wrote on her Facebook, according to the Daily Mail.

She then compared Parkhomenko to “a dog that gets a pack of biscuits falling from the sky. Can you be angry with a dog for eating it?”

More photos have surfaced this week showing officials sifting through debris from Malaysia Airlines MH17, which was traveling from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur with 298 people on board. Igor Strelkov, a commander of the pro-Russian rebels, reportedly admitted some of the items that belonged to the dead passengers were stolen.

Meanwhile, thousands of people across The Netherlands mourned as the remains of 74 victims of Flight MH17 arrived Friday for forensic identification.
