FBI Launches Investigation Into Armed Cliven Bundy Ranch Supporters

The FBI has launched an investigation into those who supported Cliven Bundy, the Nevada rancher who was involved in an armed standoff with the Bureau of Land Management regarding a dispute involving the more than $1 million in animal grazing fees the federal government claims he owes.

Supporters of Bundy included civilians as well as state militia members, the majority of whom were armed during the standoff. According to RT, the FBI is now investigating whether or not those supporters are guilty of criminal activity.

The standoff occurred when the Bureau of Land Management began collecting Bundy’s cattle as a response to his refusal to pay animal grazing fees he has owned since the 1990s. Concerned citizens who believed the actions of the federal government took things a step too far came to Bundy’s aid at the ranch, and many of them brought weapons.

According to The Blaze, the confiscation of Bundy’s cattle was canceled due to safety concerns, but the FBI is currently investigating whether or not supporters at the ranch committed crimes by pointing weapons at the Bureau of Land Management officials. The FBI investigation is not confirmed, but Clark County sheriff's officials have reported that they have been interviewed by federal agents regarding the incident.
