A Tennessee father was shocked when he woke up to find a stranger’s hand in his pants, and after scaring the intruder away, he realized the man most likely mistook him for his 14-year-old daughter.
According to KXAN, 52-year-old Corey Huddleston was charged with aggravated burglary and sexual battery after police took him into custody.
Huddleston reportedly knocked on Bret Cutrell’s door early in the morning on May 12, and a guest staying at the Tennessee man’s house answered the door. Huddleston reportedly pushed his way into the home and asked the guest and Bret’s wife, Elizabeth, for cigarettes. When they tried to get him to leave, the intruder reportedly exposed his genitals to them and asked about their teenage daughter, reports WKRN.
Eventually, Huddleston was kicked out of the home in Dixon, Tennessee, but instead of leaving, the suspect made his way around to the back of the house and entered through a back bedroom window.
A sleeping Bret suddenly woke up to a hand in his pants, and at first he assumed it was his wife, but he was shocked when he opened his eyes to discover it was a man he didn't know.
“It was quite a wake-up call,” Bret recalled. “It both disgusted me and infuriated me at the same time.”
Bred was able to scare Huddleston off, but now thinks the suspect was after his teenage daughter.
“I could tell he wasn’t expecting me,” Bret said. “I think his main target was my daughter. I wanted to rip the guy apart. If my kids hadn’t been in the house, he’d probably either be in the hospital or dead right now.”
Huddleston is currently being held on $50,000 bail. Reports note he has more than 100 prior charges on his criminal record.
