A California father was sentenced to 50 years in prison for the rape and murder of his 3-week-old daughter.
Matthew Warner, 30, was sentenced to 50 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to killing his 19-day-old daughter, Ellorah Rose Warner, in his family's home while the baby's mother was at work.
Warner initially told police his daughter had been kidnapped from the home in Newhall, according to KTLA. A large-scale search quickly began for the baby.
Warner's neighbors told police that they had seen him walk out of his house carrying something while his wife was at work.
Investigators were eventually led to Ellorah's body, which had been hidden by Warner in the cab of a truck in a nearby parking lot, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office.
Warner was arrested and charged with murder, assault on a child causing death, torture, oral copulation or sexual penetration with a child 10 years or younger, and aggravated sexual assault of a child.
“That’s something like a parent’s worse nightmare that someone in the human race could behave so inhumanely with no regard ... and to someone just barely three weeks,” Warner's mother, Victoria Law Thomson, told KTLA.
According to Inquisitr, Warner took a plea deal and was sentenced to 50 years in state prison for his crimes.
