A sheriff's deputy who was attacked by a cow on an interstate in North Dakota early Monday morning is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The attack reportedly happened about 3 a.m. in Fargo after a car crash had occurred involving the cow, according to Valley News Live.
The driver in the crash was not hurt, but the Cass County sheriff's deputy said that the cow forced him to the ground after the accident.
When he saw that the cow was about to charge at him a second time, the deputy stood up and fatally shot the cow to avoid another attack.
Officials are still investigating and trying to find the cow’s owner.
