A Grand Rapids, Michigan, man pleaded guilty on Feb. 15 to sexually assaulting an 18-month-old girl at a motel and recording video of the act to share with others.
Eric Devin Masters pleaded guilty to three counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct after authorities began investigating him for sexually exploiting children.
Masters appeared in court and entered the guilty plea while already serving 50 years for similar charges. The 29-year-old's brother is serving a 27-year sentence for assaulting a 10-year-old girl, reports WZZM.
Masters was accused of the crime in 2015, a year after being sentenced to 36 days in jail and five years probation for second-degree criminal sexual conduct. He admitted to authorities that he assaulted the 18-month-old girl three times over an eight-day period at a motel in 2012.
A year earlier, an FBI agent began investigating Masters for sexually exploiting children throughout the state between 2011 and 2013.
"The parties have entered into a sentencing agreement where the defendant will be sentenced to a 50 year minimum term and that will be concurrent to whatever time he’s doing in the federal system," Kent County Assistant Prosecutor Greg Boer told the judge.
While his minimum sentence is 50 years, the judge will decide on a maximum term on March 17, reports WZZM.
