Ex-Ravens Cheerleader Sentenced For Raping 15-Year-Old

Molly Shattuck, a former cheerleader for the NFL's Baltimore Ravens, will spend every other weekend in jail for two years for raping a 15-year-old boy who was a friend of her son, The Baltimore Sun reported.

"I take full responsibility for what I did," Shattuck told Judge E. Scott Bradley as she sobbed in court. "I was the adult.”

Shattuck performed oral sex on the teenager at a vacation home in Bethany Beach, Delaware, last summer. Although she was initially charged with  third-degree rape, unlawful sexual contact and giving alcohol to minors, the charges were downgraded to fourth-degree rape as part of a plea agreement.

Shattuck was sentenced to 15 years in prison, the maximum penalty, but 13 of those years were suspended, USA Today reported.

According to court records, Shattuck and the unidentified victim connected over social media and had exchanged sexual text messages and emails. They also occasionally met in parked cars.

“What she did to my son is heinous. The fact that she paraded her pedophilia in front of her own son is even more disturbing,” the victim’s mother said. “Any adult who rapes a child deserves to be in prison. Please hold her accountable.”

Deputy Attorney General John Donahue said Shattuck didn’t make a small judgment lapse. “This is a classic case of grooming behavior,” Donahue said.

Shattuck, who was the oldest cheerleader in the NFL, must report to prison starting in September and was ordered to pay $10,650 in restitution to the victim’s family. She must also register as a sex offender is forbidden from see anyone under the age of 18, except for her three children.
