Voice of the Voiceless is an anti-gay group that is cosponsoring an upcoming "Ex-Gay Pride Month" dinner in Washington, D.C., with the Family Research Council.
Speakers at the dinner will include Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., former Sen. Jim DeMint, R-S.C., Liberty Counsel's Mat Staver and Rep. Tim Huelskamp, R-Kan., noted OneNewsNow.
As part of the "First Ex-Gay Pride Month Celebration," the anti-gay group is also holding a music video contest.
According to their website, the rules state:
Create your own music video! Amateurs or professionals can enter. Video should be 3-5 min. in length. Winner selected based on original song content, appeal and professionalism. Winner debuts their music video LIVE at the First Ex-Gay Pride Month Celebration in Washington, DC.
Voice of the Voiceless' Christopher Doyle recently told Christian radio host Janet Mefferd that the organization and its supporters want Congress to “pass a resolution for tolerance for the ex-gay community," notes RightWingWatch.org.
Doyle also wants another resolution passed by Congress to support reparative therapy in which gay people are turned straight. However, this type of therapy is not supported by any major psychological organization.
