First son Eric Trump and his wife, Lara Trump, sparked controversy for hanging up stuffed animal heads on their 1-month-old son's nursery walls.
Eric and Lara gave Fox News' "Fox & Friends" a tour of their baby's safari-themed nursery, reports the Daily Mail. It was the first time the parents were allowing the public an inside look into their newborn son Luke's room at their home in New York City.
During the tour, many were distracted by the mounted stuffed animal heads that decorate the walls.
Some thought it was likely inspired by Eric's passion for hunting animals. In the past, President Trump mentioned it was a family hobby, shared by Eric and his older brother, Donald Trump Jr.
"My sons love to hunt," President Donald Trump said during a January 2016 press conference. "They are members of the NRA, very proudly. I am a big believer in the Second Amendment. But my sons are hunters, Eric is a hunter and I would say he puts it on a par with golf, if not ahead of golf."
Some found the stuffed animal heads in baby Luke's room disturbing.
"Safari styled bedroom?" wrote one person in the Daily Mail's comments section. "Oh yes. The Trump sons love to kill endangered animals. Gee I'm so impressed! NOT!"
"Stuffed animal heads in the baby's room?" wrote another. "Seriously? will you stuff the dogs when they go too? Frightening people."
Others defended the first-time parents.
"To those hypocrites crying about loss of life: 56,000,000 babies a year are aborted worldwide," shot back one. "Go cry about that."
"Get off your high horse animal protecting liberals," said another. "As long as they follow the laws regarding trophy hunting you just come across as bitter. You're just angry because they're members of the Trump family, if it were the Clintons you all would be cheering."
"I'm not interested in hunting unless you're doing it to help feed your family, but seriously?" wrote a third. "My son had a safari theme. It's pretty common. Kind of a stretch to connect Eric's hobby with some stuffed animals in a nursery."
In the show, which aired on Oct. 20, Eric and Lara gushed about their new addition, reports the Washington Examiner.
"He's a great baby, he really does not cry that much, he's so sweet...and he has a lot of hair!" Lara said.
"Apparently he has more hair than most babies!' she added, causing Eric to note that Luke "has the Trump hair!"
