Elderly Man Delivers A Daisy To Park Bench For His Deceased Wife Each Day With Help From Workers (Video)

Workers at a park in Wisconsin are braving the cold and snow to shovel a path for an elderly man who visits a park bench dedicated to his late wife and delivers a daisy there every single day.

82-year-old Bud Caldwell lost his wife of 56 years two years ago, and in honor of her, he decided to have a bench dedicated to her. Every day since the bench was installed, Caldwell has gone to deliver a daisy and a penny as tribute to her and her two favorite songs, “Pennies From Heaven” and “Daisy a Day.”

One day, park workers Jerrod Ebert and Joe Smaltz saw Caldwell sitting in his car after a massive snowstorm. Ebert and Smaltz realized that Caldwell was unable to reach the bench due to the snow, so they shoveled a path for him. Now, the two workers make sure that there is always a path for the 82-year-old to reach the love of his life.

“We both commented that we just can't have this,” Ebert explained. “We've got to make sure he can get to his bench and talk to his wife. We did it only because of his love for his wife. He truly misses her.”

Now, thanks to the kindness of the two park employees, Caldwell is able to pay tribute to his wife daily without anything getting in the way.
