A college student was caught on video drunkenly biting the head off of a hamster.
“Oh my f**king, god! No way!” a fellow student yelled at the beginning of the video, just as the frat boy in question grabs the hamster. With a wide grin on his face, the student took a bite, ripped the hamster’s head off, and hurled its body over a fence.
The crowd around him, seemingly at a spring break party, began to cheer and laugh as the drunken student smiled and looked directly to the camera that was filming him.
The shocking video was removed from YouTube for violating the site’s codes of conduct shortly after it was originally uploaded. The young man, who is believed to be a student at Florida State University, is being sought after by PETA. The animal rights organization is reportedly talking with FSU officials to try and track the student down, and intends to press charges.
“It is horrific. We don't know who this man is but we are working to track him down and prosecute,” PETA representative Stephanie Bell said. “Animal abuse is a community concern. People who abuse animals rarely do so only once and almost never stop there. The link between cruelty to animals and inter-personal violence is undeniable. Many of our nation's serial killers and most school shooters share a history of animal abuse. Often, humans and animals are abused at the same time. For example, the guy who kicks the family dog is likely abusing his spouse and children too. Cruelty to animals is always a red flag.”
