There are plenty of people out there who own Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), a fancy name for drones. Of course they are not equipped with the equipment of military drones, but most of them have cameras. Well, one Texas man testing out the camera on his UAS discovered a disturbing "river of blood" in Dallas.
The man, who asked that his named not be used, told sUAS News, "I was looking at images after the flight that showed a blood red creek and was thinking, could this really be what I think it is? Can you really do that, surely not?"
It appears the blood came from a meat processing plant, and now state and federal environmental officials are investigating exactly how this could happen.
“Any time there is some type of discharge into the Trinity River… especially from an environmental standpoint, this is a real concern," said Zachary Thompson, director of the Dallas County Health and Human Services department.
Thompson said it appears a pipe was incorrectly installed.
