Dog owners often feel bad about leaving their pets alone for more than a couple hours, so one owner decided to record what his furry friend does while he was out of the house all day.
YouTuber Mike the Intern, of Springfield, Missouri, uploaded a video (below) of his dog with a GoPro camera strapped to his collar, the Daily Mail reports.
The dog, named Guinness, follows his owner to the front door to say goodbye, then whimpers and rushes to the window after Mike leaves the house.
The GoPro captures the dog walking back and forth between rooms looking for Mike, who is nowhere to be found. The canine finally curls up on a pile of Mike’s clothes, occasionally howling at the ceiling.
The video, which was posted to Mike the Intern’s YouTube channel a week ago, has received more than 5 million views as of this writing.
Mike describes the video on his Facebook page as “the saddest thing I've ever seen.”
“Literally goes straight to my bed....and cries,” he wrote. “I've had him for six years and have never heard him howl or cry, ever. I can't leave him again.”
Mike said the GoPro died before it could capture their reunion on camera, but he responded to a Reddit commenter that he and his dog “held each other and cried” while watching the video.
