A San Francisco man was placed under arrest this weekend when he attacked another man for urinating on the carpet at his home.
Demarea Barnes allegedly punched and kicked an acquaintance who soiled the carpet of his Bayview District apartment Saturday afternoon, according to The San Francisco Chronicle.
KRON reported that officers found the 20-year-old victim lying unconscious on the sidewalk with serious head and facial injuries, police said. He was taken to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for injuries that were initially considered life-threatening. However, he was later upgraded to stable condition, police spokesman Officer Gordon Shyy said.
The 23-year-old Barnes reportedly fled the scene after the attack, but police used surveillance video in the area to identify him and take him into custody. He reportedly admitted to knowing the victim and said the brawl stemmed from the victim urinating on his carpet instead of in the bathroom, police said.
Barnes was booked in county jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
The news comes nearly two weeks after the report of a man identified as John Crews was arrested after allegedly urinating on carpeting at an Ace Hardware store in Florida. He was charged with Crews was charged with burglary and criminal mischief.
