Attorney Disputes Allegations About Casey Anthony Case

A private investigator has alleged that Casey Anthony admitted to her defense attorney that she had killed 2-year-old daughter Caylee.

Anthony was cleared of murder in a 2011 trial after her daughter went missing in July 2008, media reports say.

However, her defense attorney has rejected the allegations.

Dominic Casey, who was hired by Anthony’s defense attorney Jose Baez, made the allegations in affidavits released as part of Anthony’s bankruptcy application.

“Baez had told me that Casey had murdered Caylee and dumped the body somewhere and he needed all the help he could get to find the body before anyone else did,” Dominic Casey said in the affidavit, according to WFLA.

In August 2008, he allegedly had a conversation with Anthony.

“She [Casey Anthony] told me at that time, ‘Caylee is not coming home, they need to get used to that,’” he said.

Baez’s law firm issued a letter strongly denying the allegations.

“As you are aware, this information comes from an attention seeking, delusional individual, with a history of making false and outrageous claims, not only to court officials, but to the media,” it read.

Dominic Casey made further allegations in the documents, including about the attempt to implicate Roy Kronk in the case.

“Based on my personal knowledge of the events and statements I personally heard from Casey Anthony she authorized and permitted her attorneys including Jose Baez to make false statements about Roy Kronk to portray him as a murderer and or kidnapper of Caylee Anthony,” Casey said in the affidavit.

"In October 2008, just prior to the remains being found, Casey Anthony told me that when Caylee came up missing, the back gate was left ajar. Since Roy Kronk was a meter reader for the house, maybe 'we could say Roy Kronk kidnapped Caylee,'" he added.

The private investigator, who resigned from Baez’s law firm in October 2008, also alleged Baez had sexual relations with Anthony prior to the trial.

“I unequivocally and categorically deny exchanging sex for my legal services with Ms. Anthony,” Baez told People. “I further unequivocally and categorically deny having any sexual relationship with Ms. Anthony whatsoever.”

Baez pointed to previous theories advanced by Dominic Casey about the Anthony case, describing them as “outrageous.” In 2011, the private investigator said he wasn't certain the remains found near the Anthony home were Caylee’s.
