Davenport University Student Attempts Backflip, Fails Miserably (VIDEO)

Sitting through a college graduation ceremony can be a bit boring at times, but it's worth it when you get a chance to see one student try to do a backflip on stage and have it all captured on video.

Robert Jeffrey Blank, a recent graduate of Davenport University in Grand Rapids, Mich., had quite a noteworthy moment when he decided to attempt a celebratory backflip after receiving his diploma at the commencement ceremony Sunday, the New York Daily News reports.

Instead of landing to hundreds of cheering people, Blank hit the ground face-first with a thud, causing the other people on stage to turn their heads at the same time. A woman announcing the graduates' names can be heard saying, "Oh, OK. I don't know, I don't know! We're just going to give it a minute..."

The video shows Blank quickly getting up before leaving the stage. Blank was not hurt and the ceremony resumed with the crowd laughing, WZZM reports.
