Dave & Buster’s landed in hot water Tuesday after it posted a tweet about tacos that some found racist.
The restaurant chain’s tweet, which was sent out via its official Twitter account in honor of Taco Tuesday, read, "'I hate tacos,' said no Juan ever.”
Adweek reports that the offensive tweet was posted at 1:01 p.m. EST, and was deleted 40 minutes later.
The Dallas-based company apologized for the social media mistake at 2:35 p.m.

As for the offending tweet, some called it racist while others belived it was humorous.

No explanation as to why the tweet was published has been given, and Dave & Buster’s has not disclosed the identity of the employee who wrote it.
“Obviously, this isn't the first time a brand has tweeted out something outrageous—in this case, racist,” Adweek notes. “But the question remains: How does this kind of stuff make it into the actual world?”
