A mother was eating at a Texas Roadhouse when she got a surprising note from another customer (video below).
Katie Leach brought her 10-month-old son, Drew, to Texas Roadhouse in Boise, Idaho, to have dinner. Drew had recently discovered, as many 10-month-olds do, that he has the ability to yell.
"He will yell when I tell him no, when he's super excited and happy, or just for no reason at all," Leach told USA Today. "I'm doing my best to teach him indoor voice and to not yell back at me when telling him no."
While at the restaurant, Drew reportedly began to yell out of excitement. According to Little Things, there was a lot going on, like servers singing happy birthday to other customers and some saying hello to him. Drew was excited to be there, but not everybody else was so supportive.
During the dinner, two customers from another table dropped a note for Leach as they walked by.
"Thank you for ruining our dinner with your screaming kid. Sincerely, the table behind you," the note read, according to Newsiosity.
Leach tried to tell the pair as they walked out that she is still trying to teach her son, to which the woman responded that her grandchildren "never behave like that."
Leach says she would have been more understanding of the criticism if her son wasn't just 10 months old.
Fortunately, the restaurant's manager came to the mother's defense. She told the two women that they can finish their meal, but that they should kindly leave afterward. Then, she surprised Leach in a big way by offering to pay for her meal. She told Katie that Drew was welcome to come back any time.
"We're in the hospitality business," Texas Roadhouse spokesman Travis Doster said. "We want all our guests to have a great experience. We were voted one of the loudest restaurants by Consumer Reports. We are proud to be loud. If you want to hear clinking wine glasses and clinking forks, then this probably isn't the place for you."
