A couple from North Carolina who had been married for 61 years died within just hours of each other this week.
Bea Greene, 78, died in the morning on Friday after battling cancer for six months.
Tommy, 79, was admitted to the hospital for chest pains on Thursday night. He died from cardiac arrest seven hours after Bea died.
Tommy was surrounded by some of the couple's five children, eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren as he passed.
Rev. Dave Kiehn recalls the time when a friend asked Bea what her husband would do if she died before him. She said, "I don't know, I guess I'll just take him with me."
Kiehn said, "And now he gets to stand side-by-side with her for all of eternity."
Tommy and Bea met and married when they were just teenagers. Tommy worked as a builder and also served in the Army during the Korean War.
"In life and in death, they taught so many people so much," grandchild Montana Nichols said. "They left this world showing us that true love does exist."
