Oklahoma search crews are looking for country music singer Craig Strickland, 29, after an ominous tweet preceded his sudden disappearance. His friend, 22-year-old Chase Morland, has been found dead.
“In case we don’t come back, @BackroadCraig and I are going right through Winter Storm Goliath to kill ducks in Oklahoma,” Morland tweeted.
Morland tweeted the mysterious message on Dec. 26 just before midnight.
According to the Kay County Sheriff's Office, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol was contacted on the night of Dec. 27 after both men were reported missing at Kaw Lake, where they had gone to hunt, THV 11 reports.
A boat both men were piloting was found capsized in the lake just after midnight on Dec. 28. Authorities reportedly did not find the men or any sign of them, and the search resumed later that day.
It was announced on the evening of Dec. 28 that Morland's body had been recovered from the lake. Authorities are still searching for Strickland.
Strickland is the lead singer of Backroad Anthem in Alma, Arkansas. He has played with well-known artists like Justin Moore and Dierks Bentley.
On Dec. 28, the official Backroad Anthem Facebook page asked their fans to pray for Morland and Strickland, according to the Huffington Post.
“Please also pray for Craigs family, his wife, and for us band members,” the Facebook post read. “We love you guys and we appreciate your ever loving support for our dream.”
