Counselor Promises Teen Harvard Admission In Exchange For Sexual Relationship

The Director of College Counseling at Malvern Preparatory School in Malvern, Pennsylvania, allegedly promised a student admission to Harvard University in exchange for a sexual relationship.

Emily Feeney, 40, a graduate of Harvard University, had worked at Malvern Prep for two years as the Director of College Counseling and as a swim coach.

Beginning in the summer of 2014, Feeney sent sexual text messages and emails to a then 16-year-old student, including nude photographs, according to the affidavit obtained by The Smoking Gun. Some of the emails were sent from her school account.

Feeney admitted to police that she kissed the boy.

The student was interviewed by police and said he did receive inappropriate email and text messages from Feeney that were unwanted.

In June of 2014, the boy texted Feeney: “Im not interested in you end of story Im 16 im not into you.”

Feeney allegedly continued to pursue the boy and offered admission to Harvard University as part of her ploy, reports New York Daily News.

An email reportedly sent by Feeney from Harvard to the teen said the boy was "definitely" a candidate and "on the top of our list." Feeney wrote at the bottom of the email to the boy, "you...owe me big time. And no high fives."

Some of the messages Feeney sent to the teen are as follows:

“I'd send you the sunburn photo I posted to Instagram but that might not be a great move for my career.”

“If you don't respond to me in another week, I will pull you aside.”

“If you'd... Just stop fighting and let it happen, you'd be a lot less uptight and much happier.”

Because the teen did not want to jeopardize his chances of getting into Harvard University, he let the relationship continue.

Feeney has been fired from Malvern Prep and faces charges of institutional sexual assault, corruption of a minor, unlawful contact with a minor, and indecent assault.
