Michelle Keenan was worried when two police officers pulled up to her apartment complex in Plymouth, Minnesota. Her heart raced as the police officers walked toward her son and his friends, who were outside playing football.
Much to Keenan’s surprise, the officers joined in the game for about 20 minutes.
"It's a good feeling to know that we live in a community where police officers are willing to do this and be there for us,” Keenan told KARE 11. She said she’s grateful that the police officers took the time to build ties with the youth in her community.
"Just a friendly game of football, and the kids loved it," said Officer Matt Kaley, who joined the game. Officer Mark Passig joked that his partner was a linebacker and explained that they played football while the radio was quiet.
Keenan shot a video of the police officer’s game and shared it on Facebook. The video now has more than 80,000 views.
