Cops: Boyfriend Fatally Beat Toddler While Mom Watched

An Ohio man faces felony charges after allegedly punching a 2-year-old toddler to death while her mother watched.

Bradley Young, 26, was charged with murder and assault in the death of Kinsley Kinner, who was taken off life support late in the evening on Dec. 3, WCPO 9 in Cincinnati reported. The toddler's mother, Rebecca Ashton Kinner, 23, was charged with permitting child abuse and murder.

“I am beside myself,” Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones wrote in a tweet posted Dec. 3. “I have met some truly sick people in my career, people who have done terrible things and this, I can’t even begin to grasp. I am going to work closely with the Butler County Prosecutors Office to seek the highest punishment possible for the people who did this.”

It's not clear why Young attacked the child, and Jones said investigators were still gathering facts in the case. What they do know is that Kinner called 911 from Young's home on Dec. 2, telling a dispatcher her daughter was “coming in and out of consciousness and not breathing.”

The dispatcher guided Kinner through CPR over the phone until paramedics arrived and took over, WCPO reported.

Kinsley's father, Scott Senft, told Fox 19 that he was holding out hope that his daughter would pull through, but Kinsley was declared brain dead at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. Police said they believe Young "shook and punched" the toddler, causing internal bleeding and brain injury.

"I was crying the whole time," Senft said. "I can't do nothing to deny it. I can't fix it. I can't bring it back. That's my daughter, my baby, my girl, my everything."

Supporters held a candlelight vigil for Kinsley on Dec. 3. On Facebook, Senft shared a tribute and a message to his daughter.

"Play all you want in heaven baby," the father wrote. "Daddy will be there soon, we will play everday, love each other like we do now."
