Ex-Subway Spokesman Jared Fogle Gains 30 Pounds In Jail

Disgraced former Subway spokesman Jared Fogle has reportedly gained 30 pounds in the first three months of his 15-year prison sentence for child molestation.

In Touch learned exclusively that Fogle's life behind bars has been a constant cycle of physical attacks, taunting and threats. He's also been stress-eating, causing him to gain back a significant amount of the 200 pounds he lost on the Subway diet he made famous.

A prison insider told the magazine:

He’s really started packing on the pounds again, probably from depression. Jared’s breakfast is usually Frosted Flakes with fruit or oatmeal with cake. He loves ‘cake day’ in the dining hall twice a week and he buys Honey Buns by the box, as well as other pastries, in the commissary on his weekly shopping day. He’s been known to eat an entire box of eight at one sitting!

One of the men in prison, according to the insider, called Fogle a "dirty child rapist" and told him to "get the f**k out and not come back." The inmate reportedly slapped him several times, making his face red. His nickname in prison is "Chomo," which is short for child molester.

"When you’re in custody, there are two kinds of people who are hated more than anything else: informants — you know, rats — and child molesters," said former federal prisoner and founder of Wall Street Prison Consultants Larry Levine. "It’s a violent place and he’s going to have a rough go of it for a long time. Fogle don’t have a chance.”

Fogle recently sought a shorter sentence with a federal appeals court, after being convicted of distributing and receiving child porn and traveling to engage in sexual conduct with a child. He admitted to paying for sex at New York City hotels with 16 and 17-year-old girls, and also admitted to receiving child porn from the former head of his charity, according to Indy Star.
