On Amazon.com, the shoe company Coclico is marketing a boot with the color name of 'Kentucky Negro.' Coclico’s own e-commerce site doesn’t use the word negro, but instead calls the shade 'Kentucky Black.' However, over at Shopbop, the Coclico boot color is listed as 'Negro (black).'
Coclico is an American company, although the shoes are made in Spain. Did Coclico send out line sheets with the offending term? There has been no statement from the company yet, but there is a pretty good mark down deal on Amazon.com. The boots are normally priced at $616, but are now on sale for $407.
