A 31-year-old Chicago mother has been charged with murder in the death of her 17-year-old son.
The mother, Robin Erwin, allegedly stabbed her son in the chest. Diontae Erwin was pronounced dead today at 12:41 p.m. at Franciscan St. Margaret Health. His death was ruled a homicide.
Witnesses claim that the mother and son were heard arguing over ice cream before the stabbing, but it is unclear whether that argument played any role in the stabbing. Erwin stabbed her son below his clavicle, piercing his heart.
Details surrounding Diontae’s death are still unclear. In addition to Robin Erwin, another person has been charged in connection with his death as well.
20-year-old Larry Gray was charged with unlawful use of a weapon by a felon. A parole violation was also filed against him. While executing a parole violation warrant against Gray, police found 130 grams of cannabis in his home.
